Welcome to Sarasota Confessions — where the dating pool is deep, the cocktails are strong, and the stories are laced with just the right amount of scandal.

Sarasota Confessions is a creative journaling blog based on real-life dating experiences — ours, yours, and occasionally a friend’s cousin’s hairdresser. The names have been changed. The details may be embellished. The margaritas are real.
Each story is inspired by true events but told with a wink — names, locations, and identifying details are altered to protect the privacy of our subjects. Sometimes, we insert well-known local spots just for fun. This isn’t journalism. It’s not revenge.
It’s storytelling in flip-flops — a way to reflect, reclaim, and laugh our way through everything Florida (and its dating pool) has to offer.
And because some stories need more than words, every post comes with a custom playlist — a mood, a memory, a melody that lingers like perfume on a pillowcase. Whether it’s heartbreak, lust, freedom, or full-on dating delusion, there’s a soundtrack for every confession.
If you’ve ever dated a demon, ghosted a millionaire, or been tricked into attending a high school reunion… you’re in good company.
Meet Simone Sunset
I’m Simone — your anonymous confidante, chaos connoisseur, and the voice behind Confessions of a Sarasota Divorcee. I’m not just here to spill the tea… I sing the whole damn ballad.

Before Sarasota, I had a different name, a different life. I came here chasing a second act, traded spotlight stages for beach bars, and found myself tangled in the most entertaining, confounding, and occasionally romantic dating scene on the Gulf Coast.
Now, I write down the stories — and I soundtrack them, too. Every post comes with a playlist, because some confessions need more than words. They need a slow burn. A bass line. A broken chord in the middle of an otherwise upbeat song.
This blog began as a way to process the madness — and, let’s be honest, to make sure no one accused me of making this stuff up. Because when it comes to Florida men and women? You truly cannot invent what already exists.
Whether you’re dating a demon, ghosting a millionaire, or just trying to survive your own rom-com in humid weather — pour something cold, press play, and stay a while.
Because in Sarasota, romance is never boring — and neither are the confessions.
